Baked Ginger + Chocolate Pears
We love how the bitterness of the chocolate and fiery heat of the ginger work with the sweet pairs in this easy, six-ingredient dessert.
Ingredients
Ingredients
- ripe pears
- coconut oil, melted
- maple syrup
- ground ginger
- 70% vegan dark chocolate
- blanched hazelnuts, roughly chopped
Method
- 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C fan / 400°F.
- 2
Slice the pears in half lengthways then use a teaspoon to spoon out the cores with the seeds.
- 3
Place the pear halves in a baking dish cut side up and drizzle with the melted coconut oil, maple syrup and sprinkle the ground ginger all over. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the pears are nice and soft.
- 4
Meanwhile, break the chocolate into small pieces and add it to a saucepan on a low heat. Cook for 5 minutes or until the chocolate has melted.
- 5
Next add the hazelnuts to a pan on a medium-high heat and toast for 2 minutes until golden.
- 6
Serve the pears with the melted chocolate drizzle and finish with a sprinkling of toasted hazelnuts.
