15 Minute Harissa Tofu With Red Cabbage Slaw
Crispy tofu coated in aromatic harissa paste and served with a simple slaw.
Ingredients
Ingredients
- cornflour, (or cornstarch in the US)
- firm tofu, drained + cubed
- olive oil
- red cabbage, coarsely grated
- carrots, coarsely grated
- fresh coriander, roughly chopped
- lime, juice only
- ground cumin
- salt + pepper
- rose harissa paste
- pitta breads, to serve (optional), (or gluten free pittas)
Method
- 1
Add the cornflour to a bowl, add the tofu then coat it on all sides in the cornflour.
- 2
Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large frying pan over a high heat. Add the tofu. Fry for 10 minutes, turning regularly until crispy.
- 3
Meanwhile, for the slaw, mix together the cabbage, carrot and coriander in a large bowl. Squeeze in the lime juice, add the ground cumin and season to taste with salt and pepper. Then set aside.
- 4
Once the tofu is crispy, add the harissa along with 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the pan. Fry for a further minute until each piece of tofu is sticky and coated.
- 5
Serve the harissa tofu with the slaw and pitta breads if you like.

“Super quick! I made it with cous cous and used a jar of pickled red cabbage to save a couple mins 👌”
